National Book Award winner Bob Shacochis will read from his just-released novel, The Woman Who Lost Her Soul. The recipient of 3 starred reviews (Kirkus, Library Journal, Booklist), the novel promises to be a prize-winner. Books will be available at the reading. Shaochis's first story colection, Easy in the Islands, won the National Book Award, and his second, The Next New World, was awarded the Prix de Rome. His first novel, Swimming in the Volcano, was a finalist for The National Book Award, and The Immaculate Invasion, literary reportage about Haiti, was a finalist for the New Yorker Best Nonfiction Book of the Year Award. Shacochis has written for Harper's, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Outside, and other journals.
