MSC Presents Black History Month Opening Ceremony: Black Is

Thursday, February 1, 2018 noon to 2 p.m.

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history.

This year the Multicultural Student Center(MSC) and the Black History Month Committee decided on the theme BLACK IS .

There is no definite definition of what it means to be black. Black people live on a spectrum that extends beyond skin color, hair type, societal expectations and much more. This year we want you to define what Black is for yourself.

Join us as we kickoff Black History Month as we pay a tribute to President Hitt for advocating for diversity and inclusion and receive a compelling keynote by Professor Jonathan Cox.
