Speaker: Larry Marks
This workshop will provide a brief introduction to the field of positive psychology and describe the importance of developing well-being in order to be successful as a student and leader. Through addressing key findings from the science and practice of positive psychology, attendees will learn ways of functioning and performing at an optimal level. We will discuss specific concepts including meaning and purpose, optimism, strengths, and positive emotions and how these can contribute to increased well-being and effective leadership.
Bio: Dr. Larry Marks is a licensed psychologist at UCF’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). He has been at UCF for over 16 years and provides individual and group counseling and coaching to students. Dr. Marks has conducted over 250 presentations focusing on college student mental health and wellness, including positive psychology applications.
