The is the UCF United Way Campaign Team's 2nd annual book drive in support of the United Way's Day of Action literacy initiative. This effort is in response to research about summer reading loss and the impact of summer months on the educational progress of disadvantaged youth. Each young person who attends the events will take home at least one book. Underprivileged neighborhoods average 300 children to every one book; middle and upper class neighborhoods average 13 books per every one child.
