Located in St. George’s, Grenada, SGU is a Caribbean medical school with a global reach. The MD medical education program consists of a 157–week curriculum that many students complete in four calendar years. In years one and two, students study medical courses on the True Blue campus in Grenada. Students in the Basic Sciences phase of the MD program learn through traditional lectures and laboratory sessions augmented by small–group sessions and case–based learning exercises.
In years three and four, students begin rotations at some of the best–known hospitals in the US, UK, Canada, and Grenada under careful supervision by practicing physicians. Clinical training is hospital–and clinic–based, and uses bedside teaching augmented by lectures, small groups, and reading.
