Medical Tourism Talk: Ethics, Equity and Patient Safety

Valerie Crooks, Ph.D., is an associate professor at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. Trained as a health geographer, she is the newly appointed Canada Research Chair in Health Service Geographies and holds a Scholar Award from the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research. Much of her current research is focused on the global health service practice of medical tourism. Crooks and her team are committed to conducting research that can contribute to identifying how medical tourism can happen in the most safe, equitable and ethical ways.
