International Crisis and Risk Communication Convention

The 2012 International Crisis & Risk Communication Conference: Crisis Communication in the 21st Century will bring together leaders, researchers, and experts from government, private industry, and the academy to facilitate an international dialogue about how we can collectively understand, adapt and respond to the significant crisis communication challenges we face in the changed landscape of evolving social media and new communication technologies. This conference is for public and private sector communication practitioners as well as researchers, scholars, and policy-makers who are interested in exploring the challenges for risk and crisis communication. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with leading experts; hear lessons learned and emergent best practices from professionals who have dealt with significant national disasters; and participate in proposing practical recommendations for effective crisis communication in this changing environment.
