The Myakka River flows through 58 miles of pristine wetlands, prairies, and stunning oak hammocks. As we hike you'll gaze at ospreys resting in palm trees, turtles sunning themselves along the river banks, and maybe even glimpse a deer! Watch the sun set behind towering pine trees, and fall asleep under the stars. Take a break from your normal weekend and feel what it's like to live with only the essentials on your back!
To register for the trip, please visit the Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) in the Recreation and Wellness Center. Our open hours are:
Monday - 12:00pm-6:00pm
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 2:00pm-6:00pm
Friday - 12:00pm-6:00pm
The OAC is room 154, located on the first floor of the Recreation and Wellness Center, just past the racquetball courts, down the long hallway, across from the RWC Wet Classroom and Men's locker room entrance to the lap pool.
