The practice of self-care and the ability to trust oneself through difficult times is one of the greatest abilities we can acquire in our life. Battling back shame and embarrassment is how me move forward from difficult experiences. Additionally, knowing the physiological and emotional reactions we have to those experiences plays a key role in how we succeed as professionals as well as leaders. This presentation will explore the history of self-care and how student leaders and professionals can be proactive in their lives in order to provide the most effective and impactful work in their roles on college campuses.
