A candlelight vigil will be held on UCF’s main campus to commemorate the two-year anniversary of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (MSD). UCF students impacted by the tragedy—those who were attending MSD at the time of the shooting as well as those who lost loved ones—will give remarks. The vigil will take place at 6 p.m. on Memory Mall.
In addition to the candlelight vigil, UCF will offer free, confidential mental health counseling for impacted students. The University has prioritized supporting its MSD students. Following the 2018 shooting, UCF offered letters of condolence to each of its MSD students as well as counseling, support workshops, and care packages.
