Surprising Reasons Why Students Commit Academic Misconduct

Wednesday, February 24, 2016 noon to 1 p.m.

**This workshop is for Faculty, TA's, GA and GTA's only.

We usually think students commit acts of academic misconduct because they are lazy, they don’t care, they want an easy way out of doing work, they won’t get caught, etc. We believe students who cheat and plagiarize are on academic probation, they are just trying to increase their GPA, etc. This could not be further from the truth. The Office of Integrity and Ethical Development has worked closely with all students found in-violation of academic misconduct for the past three years. Learn the real reasons why students commit academic misconduct and what we can do as a UCF teaching community to educate students on how to demonstrate academic integrity throughout their UCF career.
