The Division of Student Development and Enrollment Service is pleased to announce the annual QPR-a-Thon Suicide Prevention Training. The QPR-a-Thon will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, in the Student Union - Egmont Key (224). The training sessions will be held hourly from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) are three steps faculty, staff and students can learn to help prevent suicide. The event is sponsored by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Suicide is the second leading cause of death among college and university students, but it is also one of the most preventable causes of death. QPR trainings will help participants recognize the signs of suicide and three basic principles of how to help save a life. This is an excellent training opportunity for new staff, faculty and students. If it has been more than two years since your last QPR training, a QPR refresher training is recommended. A QPR training session can also be arranged at a convenient time specifically for your group or organization.
**No Need to RSVP. Its suggested you arrive 10 minutes before the training hour you would like to attend to sign in and secure your spot. **
