Actor, comedian and playwright, Elizardi Castro was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York. He’s been blazing the stages and delighting audiences with 100+ sold out performances throughout the country; including recent performances at The Portage Theater and the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts, in Chicago; and The Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, CT.
His animated and physical comedic style has made him an audience favorite. His critically acclaimed shows have been reviewed and recommended by numerous publications including The Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Reader and TimeOut Chicago. His shows have been described as “funny, touching and infused with a true sense of self” by the Orlando Sentinel and “a funny and clever personal show experience” by the Northwest Indiana Times. Elizardi has also been featured on WGN-TV, Telemundo and Univision. Before following his dream to become a standup comedian, Elizardi worked as a prosecutor before running his own criminal defense law firm. Elizardi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Communications.
