The National Council of Negro Women, LGBTQ Services, the UCF Film department and the UCF History department present a screening of the UCF-produced documentary "Shadows of the Past, Reflections for the Future" about the courageous story of Central Florida civil rights activists Harry T. Moore and Harriette V. Moore. The filmmaker team as well as a representative from the UCF African-American Studies program will participate in a Q&A following the screening. This event is part of the February 2012 “Black History 365 – Not Just a Month but a MOVEMENT” celebration at UCF.
Produced and Directed by Lisa Mills, UCF Department of Film and Robert Cassanello, UCF Department of History, "Shadows" shares the story of activists Harry T. and Harriette V. Moore, their fight for civil rights for African Americans in the 1940s, and how the Moore legacy lives on, nearly sixty years after they were murdered.
