Light Up the Conversation

Sunday, October 2, 2016 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

October 2nd - October 8th is Mental Illness Awareness Week!

Join Active Minds as we kick off our daily events with Light Up the Conversation! It's time we talk about mental health.

Light Up the Conversation will be a night of hope and support where individuals can share their personal mental health stories in a safe and supportive environment. Those struggling with a mental illness will receive a green glowstick, those supporting will receive a blue glowstick. If you've been personally affected by mental illness, or perhaps someone close to you, sharing your story could help educate our community and inspire others to not suffer in silence! Even if you don't share, your attendance alone shows support to the 1 in 4 living with a diagnosable mental illness!

No need to be a member! This event is open to the public! We hope to see you (and all of your friends) there!

Bring blankets-- we will be sharing our stories outside!

For more information or for some courage to share, email: emily1017@knights.ucf.edu

We ask that stories be limited to under 15 minutes in order to allow everyone to share
