Advanced Air Mobility Conference

Friday, March 10, 2023 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Skip the commute from UCF Downtown to main campus: Would you instead fly in your personalized “flying taxi” to make the journey? This could be possible in the near future as a new era of human mobility is on the horizon with investment pouring into advanced air mobility — the local, on-demand movement of people and goods by air using autonomous or uncrewed electric aircraft that take off and land vertically.

Led by Timothy M. Ravich, Sarah Bush and Laurie O. Campbell — faculty members from the College of Community Innovation and Education — and with the support of the National Science Foundation, UCF is pleased to host a conference centered on the intersection of law and new aviation mobility. Featuring speakers including U.S. Senator Mark Warner (D. Virginia) and major firms like Lilium, Supernal and Ferrovial, this international conference seeks to generate new knowledge and identify further areas of inquiry regarding the significance and feasibility of advanced air mobility. Its goal is to provide traction on challenging questions through interdisciplinary perspectives about how to (re)calibrate the legal-regulatory framework for civil air transport alongside extraordinary breakthroughs in aeronautical engineering.
