Learn how philanthropy and business make magic happen in communities when Ryan DeVos headlines as the 2023 Crossroads speaker.
DeVos, Orlando Magic vice president of shareholder engagement for the Orlando Magic, will engage in a lively dialogue with moderator Jay Riola, executive vice president of strategy and innovation for the Orlando Magic, during Crossroads: The Intersection of Business and Philanthropy. The annual event spotlights the impact corporate leadership can create for those who live and work in their communities – and the strategic goals accomplished through partnership with nonprofit organizations.
Now in his third season with the Orlando Magic, DeVos has a primary leadership role in ownership engagement, including chairing the Third Generation Leadership Team. Prior to this role, he served as director of Magic Gaming, overseeing all aspects of the Magic’s NBA 2K League team and providing overall management of basketball and business operations. DeVos also volunteers his time in the community with the Magic’s various initiatives.
To celebrate 30 years of ownership in 2021-22, the DeVos Family Foundation committed 30 grants to 30 local non-profits totaling $3 million. The DeVos family has been recognized numerous times by Forbes as one of America’s Top Givers, as well as in similar listings by other publications. The DeVos family’s philanthropy extends off the court as well; much of their philanthropy supports work to enact meaningful change, remove barriers, and allow all to achieve their full potential.
The crossroads where business and philanthropy intersect often is the engine that drives the success and well-being of individual lives and entire communities. The Crossroads Speaker Series is one example of how Dr. Phillips Charities and UCF work in partnership to improve our educational programming and the health and vitality of downtown Orlando, Central Florida and beyond.
