QUICK FACTS
LOCATION
Despite its small size, Costa Rica is one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world with volcanoes, wildlife, rainforests, and beaches to explore. This expedition will take us from the cultural sites of the country’s capital city San Jose, to the dense rainforest of Arenal Volcano and Monteverde Cloud Forest, down to the world-class surfing break at Jaco Beach, and finally into the incredible Manuel Antonio National Park to see all the wildlife Costa Rica has to offer.
WEATHER
March offers warm, sunny weather in Costa Rica, with highs ranging from 85°F to 95°F and lows between 75°F and 85°F. March falls in Costa Rica's “dry” season, but we will always be prepared!
COST
The total cost of the trip is $600, not including round-trip airfare to San Jose, Costa Rica. OA will provide all necessary group gear, meals, transportation while in the country, activity fees, and all lodging fees. Participants are responsible for airfare and personal clothing, including close-toed athletic shoes.
TRIP EXPECTATIONS
This is not a luxury trip - we will be camping in rural areas with limited amenities. We will be hiking in the rainforest, swimming in waterfalls, horseback riding to Arenal Volcano, and surfing a world-class break. Prepare for delicious food, breathtaking views, and intentional moments of joy. No experience is required.
PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS
We are looking for individuals who are interested in exploring a diverse and rustic natural environment, excited to learn and connect with the local community, and open to getting out of their comfort zone. Participants MUST have a current passport. We expect all participants to be interested in learning more about themselves and their leadership abilities.
