Guest Clinician & Artist: Fernando Traba

Principal Bassoon, Sarasota Orchestra

Faculty, University of South Florida

Fernando Traba, Principal Bassoon of the Sarasota Orchestra, is serving as Adjunct Bassoon Faculty at USF for the 2020-2021 school year. Mr. Traba has served on the faculty of Department of Music at Florida Southern College since 2000, and also teaches bassoon at the State College of Florida. A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Mr. Traba has served as Principal Bassoon of Sarasota Orchestra since 1992. He holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Cleveland Institute of Music and has done postgraduate work at the Juilliard School. In addition to his orchestral duties and teaching positions, he has edited and provided the Spanish language translation for the 2nd edition of Bassoon Reed Making: Basic Technique by Christopher Weait.
