Running Large Scale Simulations on AWS Using R

Tuesday, September 17, 2024 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Running complex statistical analyses and simulations can often be challenging when compute resources are limited. In this workshop, you will learn you how to leverage the virtually unlimited compute power of the cloud by running a Monte-Carlo simulation using AWS Batch. AWS Batch dynamically provisions the optimal compute resources based on your workload, allowing you to focus on analyzing the results rather than managing infrastructure. You'll learn how to set up a containerized R-based HPC workload using services like Docker, ECR, S3, IAM, and Fargate, with AWS Batch as the core service to address your research needs.

To participate in the hands-on lab during the session, you will need to provide your own computer with a web browser and a reliable internet connection.
