Pre-Trip Date and Time: October 15, 6:00PM
Trip Description: Spend the day canoeing over 10 miles through the twists and turns of the St. Johns River and surrounding creeks at Hontoon Island (which is only accessible by boat!). We will start at Hontoon Island State Park and stop half way at Blue Spring State Park for lunch. There is a potential to eat lunch with some manatees if they are still by the springs when we head out there. This trip is long, but follows the creeks and river downstream, and provides some beautiful views and experiences.
What’s Included: All of our adventures include all necessary gear for the activity and professional guidance by OA Trip Leaders. All staff are certified in First Aid/CPR/AED, and most are certified Wilderness First Responders. Participants should wear athletic clothing, appropriate footwear, and bring personal water/snacks. A full packing list will be provided at the Pre-Trip Meeting. Meals are not provided on this trip; please bring your lunch.
