You are invited to observe Metropolitan Opera soprano and Peabody Institute Vocal Studies Chair, Elizabeth Futral, as she works with the UCF Opera students in a masterclass setting.
Elizabeth Futral is the chair of the vocal studies department at Peabody Institute and an amazing singer herself, with a long career of major opera roles at major opera companies around the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York city. She has graciously agreed to come to the UCF main campus to work with our current opera workshop students.
This is a major event in our students’ lives and one you won’t want to miss observing.
Eight students will sing in various languages and styles, and Ms. Futral will work with them to improve various aspects of their performance. It’s like sitting in on eight brief voice lessons with one of America’s most famous voice teachers!
While we are not planning an intermission, guests are welcomed to come and go for restroom needs, etc. This is a relatively informal teaching event. We only ask that you not enter or leave the auditorium as each student is singing through their selection at the start of their session with Ms. Futral.
