"Music and the Brain" transforms one of the most popular courses in UCF's Burnett Honors College into an immersive concert and lecture. Two UCF professors — neuroscientist Kiminobu Sugaya and world-renowned violinist Ayako Yonetani — have added live performance and a panel of health experts to guide audiences through an interactive exploration of the course's themes: how music impacts brain function and human behavior, and especially how music can improve health outcomes for patients with neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinsons. This event is made possible by a Pabst Steinmetz Foundation Arts and Wellness Innovation Award.
Free admission. Patrons who wish to participate in the study should register at the link provided or call 407-COM-TRIALS or send an email to comtrials@ucf.edu. Patrons are welcome to attend the concert without participating in the study.
