UCF Oboe Day 2026

Saturday, February 21, 2026 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The 2026 UCF Oboe Day will feature Guest Artist Philippe Tondre, Principal Oboe of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Instructor of Oboe at Curtis Institute of Music. Mr. Tondre will perform a solo recital and give a masterclass.

Students coming to Oboe Day 2026 will have 2 options to participate:

  • As a Performer:
    • $40 fee for performers (capped at 8)
    • Perform one chosen piece or orchestral excerpts (1-3)
    • Receive detailed feedback of your performance from Mr. Tondre
    • The number of performers will be capped at 8 so register early for this option
  • As an Attendee:
    • $30 fee for attendees. (no cap)
    • No participation in Masterclass.

The day will end with an oboe choir performance by all oboists in attendance conducted by Dr. Scott Lubaroff, Director of Bands at UCF. All students should bring their oboes and reeds!
Pizza will be provided or students can bring a packed lunch.
