"Interdisciplinarity Beyond Mixology: The Neglected Wisdom of Complexity and Connection"
Within Interdisciplinary Studies, the language of complexity has been adopted while its wisdom has been neglected. Interdisciplinarity has largely been grafted into a capture-and-control way of knowing that complexity fundamentally challenges. This talk argues for a fully-fledged complexity that positions human connection as epistemically essential. Integration, in this view, is not something we manufacture by mixing disciplines—it emerges when we genuinely engage across difference.
