In anticipation of World Heart Day, UCF Heart Day will provide free hands-only CPR instruction to the UCF community on Wednesday, Sept. 27. Recurring 20-minute hands-only CPR sessions also will include instruction on the use of AEDs and information about heart health.
Hands-only CPR is cardiopulmonary resuscitation without mouth-to-mouth. It is recommended for use by people who see a teen or adult suddenly collapse in an “out-of-hospital” setting, such as at home, work, or in a public place.
UCF Heart Day is a collaboration among UCF Environmental Health and Safety, the Department of Security and Emergency Management, the UCF Police Department, UCF Student Government Association, Orange County Fire Rescue, and other community partners.
World Heart Day will be celebrated across the globe on Friday, Sept. 29.
