Pride Coalition is hosting a three-part workshop series in Pride Commons during various HIV/AIDS Awareness Days. Students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to learn more about HIV/AIDS and information regarding different groups that will be represented on each specific day. We are partnering with Wellness and Health Promotion Services (WHPS) on the events. They will be doing workshop activities during each event. There will be prizes for participating in various activities. Additionally, they will be conducting free HIV testing in the conference room. WHPS will accept walk-ins, but appointments are encouraged. To make an appointment, please call WHPS, (407)823-5841 and ask to speak with Michael Freeman. Testing will be private and confidential. The dates for the workshop series is as follows:
Wednesday, September 18th from 11:00-1:00pm National Aging HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
Friday, September 27th from 12:00-2:00pm National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
Tuesday, October 15th from 11:00-1:00pm National Latino AIDS Awareness Day
While participants are not required to attend all the events, there will be incentives for those who attend all three. If you have any questions, please contact pridehw@ucf.edu.
