KnightED Talks: Promoting Civics in the Classroom

Tuesday, April 10, 2018 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Presenter: Kaylene Christie, Trinity Christian School Teacher

Be creative with ways to incorporate civics into various social studies curriculum, compliment state and national standards, and promote healthy student understanding and involvement in personal citizenship. In this workshop, you will learn how to create Civics Notebooks (digital or paper) for your students. In its basic form, it is a portfolio of resources, records, and personal thoughts for students to complete in one school year or over multiple school years. It was originally created for middle grades, but can easily be adapted to upper elementary or high school.
