The University of Central Florida has been celebrating success on the football field for over a month in 2014 and the Fiesta continues Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC). The RWC will honor the members of team “Check On It” for bringing home the 2013 NIRSA Championship Series Women’s National Flag Football Championship.
UCF shut down an experienced team from Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon –UANL (Nuevo Leon, Mexico) team 27-0 at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida in January 2014. Its UCF’s second ever Women’s National Title; the first coming in 2009. UCF Men’s, Women’s and Co-Rec flag football teams have now won 11 national titles since the tournament began in 1979 at the University of New Orleans surpassing Florida A&M University for the most flag football titles of any school in the country.
The celebration will take place at 1:00pm on the second floor patio overlooking the RWC Lap Pool on Monday, February 10. Catering will be provided by Designer Greens. The event is open to all members of the media and public.
