Dr Denise Young - Successful Women Seminar Series - Administration Takes Heart, Brains, and Courage: Lessons from My Years in Oz

Thursday, September 4, 2014 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Orlando campus had 17,000 students when Denise Young joined UCF, and it has been a fun journey! During her time at UCF she has served in administrative roles in the areas of International Studies, Academic Affairs, and the Regional Campuses and has taught in Social Work and Honors. Prior to coming to UCF she worked at the Board of Regents in Tallahassee, and taught and administered a Gerontology Program in Michigan. Denise believes administration is a “helping profession” and that good administrative work consists of service-oriented activity that supports the success of our students and faculty members. Each career path is unique, with a series of opportunities presenting new directions and challenges along the way. Join us for a discussion of lessons learned along one person’s “yellow brick road”.
