Startup Legal Protection & Best Practices

Learn the laws designed to protect your startup and the legal best practices you should take from Attorney Biff Godfrey, who will give a free two-hour workshop for UCF students interested in protecting their ideas for technology, businesses and more. 

Licensed to practice law in both Texas and Florida, Godfrey has worked as corporate counsel for Zale Corporation, TGI Friday’s Inc., and Darden Restaurants, Inc., with responsibilities for commercial and retail leasing, real estate, domestic and international franchising, licensing, trademarks and purchasing. He holds a B.A. in liberal studies from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from the Southern Methodist University School of Law. Godfrey is a member of the State Bar of Texas, The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the ABA Forum on Franchising and the ABA Section of Real Property, Trusts and Estate Law. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Downtown Orlando YMCA and member of the British-America Chamber of Commerce and member of various other Chambers of Commerce throughout the Central Florida area.
