KnightED Talks: DIVerse Families Database

Tuesday, October 16, 2018 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Join UCF librarian Kristine Shrauger as you learn about UCF’s DIVerse Families database. As the white mother of an Ethiopian daughter, Kristine quickly realized how difficult it was to find books that “mirrored” their family dynamic. So out of necessity became invention, and the DIVerse Families Book Database was born. Come and learn the unique strengths of this database as it dives down and evaluates books not only based upon their words but the vital meanings within the pictures. Once you learn about this database, finding books that mirror diverse families will be just a simple click away.
