Beyond Manifestations of Racism: Understanding the Personal, Cultural and Structural Links

Carlton Howson, a senior lecturer a De Montfort University in Leicester, England, will present "Beyond Manifestations of Racism: Understanding the Personal, Cultural and Structural Links" from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, November 5, in Classroom Building I, room 104.

Howson has conducted extensive research on race, ethnicity and gender disparities. He has more than 30 years of experience working with young people, families, communities and those who are said to be "hard to reach."

He thinks that making changes requires doing things differently. "The development of a Black perspectives' module has facilitated many students in finding their voices."
