Bilingual Day Hike @ Black Bear Wilderness

Sunday, October 13, 2019 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To celebrate Hispanic history month OA is excited to have our first bilingual adventure! Experienced trip leaders who are fluent in both Spanish and English will be guiding you through the stunning Black Bear Wilderness. Black Bear Wilderness Trail is a new hiking location in the community that provides a 7.1-mile loop along the St.Johns River. This hike is mostly shaded and overlooks marshes, canals, and occasional views of the river. Participants will hike through a combination of sturdy boardwalks and forested sections with tricky roots and steep drop-offs, something unique to Florida hiking.

To register for the trip, please visit the Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) in the Recreation and Wellness Center. Our open hours are:

Monday - 12:00pm-6:00pm

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 2:00pm-6:00pm

Friday - 12:00pm-6:00pm

The OAC is room 154, located on the first floor of the Recreation and Wellness Center, just past the racquetball courts, down the long hallway, across from the RWC Wet Classroom and Men's locker room entrance to the lap pool.

*AFTER REGISTERING FOR THE COURSE, PARTICIPANTS MUST ATTEND THE PRE TRIP MEETING*
