Globalization of Mental Health

Wednesday, November 3, 2021 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In a collaboration of the SHS Student Health Advisory Committee and the Multicultural Student Center, this event aims to raise awareness of mental health amongst our international communities. While UCF provides a culture of care and understanding regarding mental health awareness, we recognize that many of our students coming to UCF from diverse cultures and populations may have a different story to share in regards to how mental health was discussed in their communities.

This discussion will be led by LeAnne Wawrzaszek-Schumann, M.A. from Counseling and Psychological Services. Our goal is to reduce the stigma around mental health and international/global populations and thus increase access to resources on campus for anyone seeking them.

We will also discuss the general importance of mental health, and the available resources we have on campus to help ALL of our students.
