Intensive Reading Camp

The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders Clinic at the University of Central Florida will host an Intensive Reading Camp with UCF literacy experts from June 6 to June 30.

This intensive reading intervention camp is for nonreaders or struggling readers entering the 3rd or 4th grade.The camp will be held four days a week, from Monday to Thursday, for four weeks from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

A fun, evidence-based curriculum of intensive reading intervention and clinically based methods, utilizing the latest research on the science of reading. Structured and explicit instruction in small groups, weekly progress reports and parent education sessions will be provided to help students catch up on reading and spelling skills. Pre-testing and post-testing will measure success and growth over the course of the camp.
