A multi-year support system designed to support, develop, and empower new teachers in the vision of the district and expectations for teaching and learning. Research shows that “new teachers who participate in a comprehensive induction program stay in the profession longer and have greater success in terms of job satisfaction and student achievement” (Harris, 2015). Great Beginnings is the welcome to and introduction of the OCPS way of work for beginning teachers and the kick-off to induction. It is followed by online coursework to extend and implement learning.
