Grant Writing Academy: Competitive Proposal Development for the National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Wednesday, September 11, 2024 10 a.m. to noon

Dr. Dinender Singla, professor of medicine in the UCF College of Medicine and cardiovascular division leader, will facilitate this session.

Several strong/weak National Institutes of Health (NIH) proposal writing examples will be discussed to demonstrate best practices. A brief overview of the NIH proposal review process, pros and cons of communicating with NIH program manager before proposal submission, developing an impactful specific aims page, developing a research plan, discussion of budget, developing the evaluation/assessment plan and common mistakes to avoid will be discussed.

Participation is only open for faculty researchers approved by their college leadership and selected by the Office of Research.
