Grant Writing Academy: Competitive Proposal Development for the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Education

Wednesday, September 18, 2024 10 a.m. to noon

Dr. Zhihua Qu, Pegasus Professor in the UCF Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will facilitate the U.S. Department of Energy session. Dr. Mary Little, professor in the UCF School of Teacher Education, will facilitate the U.S. Department of Education session.

Several strong/weak proposal writing examples will be discussed to demonstrate best practices. A brief overview of the proposal review process, pros and cons of communicating with agency program managers before proposal submission, developing an impactful research plan, discussion of budget, developing the evaluation/assessment plan and common mistakes to avoid will be discussed.

Participation is only open for faculty researchers approved by their college leadership and selected by the Office of Research.
