Grant Writing Academy: Competitive Proposal Development for the National Science Foundation (NSF)

Wednesday, August 28, 2024 10 a.m. to noon

Dr. Saiful Khondaker, interim assistant vice president for research advancement for the UCF Office of Research and professor of nanotechnology, physics and electrical engineering, will facilitate this session.

Several strong/weak U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) proposal writing examples will be discussed to demonstrate best practices. A brief overview of the NSF proposal review process, pros and cons of communicating with the NSF program manager before proposal submission, developing an impactful pitch and project summary, developing a competitive project description, discussion of the budget, developing the evaluation/assessment plan and common mistakes to avoid will be discussed.

Participation is only open for faculty researchers approved by their college leadership and selected by the Office of Research.
