Clinic Dates:
- Friday, February 13 at 2:00 PM
- Friday, March 6 at 2:00 PM
- Friday, April 3 at 2:00 PM
Cost: FREE for current UCF Students and RWC Members (with an active membership).
Registration:
- In the UCF RWC app or through the UCF RWC Membership Portal website
- At the RWC Climbing Tower front desk during normal business hours. Students can take the stairs or elevators to the first floor and go left. The desk is behind the stairs in the northeast corner of the main building.
Registration opens two weeks before the day of the clinic.
Walk-Ins are welcome, however; the clinic is first-come, first-serve with a limit of 16 people per clinic session. Participants arriving 5 minutes later after the start will not be allowed to join
Description:
The First Time Climbers Clinic is a session geared towards those who have never participated in the activity of rock climbing before. Participants will meet at the UCF Climbing Tower with one of our instructors and will be taught the climbing basics needed to start climbing. During this session participants will learn about climbing-specific vocabulary and definitions, the difference between bouldering and top roping, the basics of completing a route and getting to the top of the wall, as well as UCF Climbing Tower specific policies.
This clinic is held on select Fridays. After the session is over, participants will then have the opportunity to climb during normal Climbing Tower operations with the assistance of staff!
