Evidence-Based Teaching Strategies to Improve Student Learning

Thursday, April 16, 2026 noon to 1 p.m.

Join us at the UCF Downtown Campus (Room DPAC 169) for a Lunch and Learn on Tuesday, April 16, 12pm - 1pm for Evidence-Based Teaching Strategies to Improve Student Learning. We will examine summaries from two of the largest meta-studies to-date that have been conducted on teaching effectiveness: John Hattie’s (2023) “Visible Learning” and Scott Freeman’s (2014) “Active Learning Increases Student Performance in Science, Engineering, and Mathematics.” Attendees will leave with updated principles to improve their teaching practices.

This event is open to UCF instructors (faculty, adjuncts and GTAs), Valencia Downtown instructors (faculty and adjuncts), or the Downtown Campus staff (UCF or Valencia).
