Guest Speakers

Chief Sharon Bryan, Department of Youth Services
Sharon Bryan is the chief of the Department of Youth Services at the Seminole County Sheriff's
Office. She oversees the Child Protective Services Division, the Juvenile Justice Division, and the
School Safety Division.

Captain Tracey Fortenberry, Juvenile Justice Division
Tracy Fortenberry serves as the captain over the Juvenile Justice Division. In that role he
oversees, our broad-based spectrum of services to target and address the unique issues that
perpetuate juvenile crime.

Omar Mestre, Manager – Juvenile Enforcement Center
Omar Mestre manages a team that runs numerous juvenile programs, including the Police
Athletic League, Youth Intervention Services –Prevention and Enforcement, alternative school
and community service programs.

Jerri Weathers, Supervisor - Juvenile Justice Division
Jerri Weathers supervises a unit of six Child Protective Investigators who investigate reports of
abuse, abandonment and neglect. Seminole County is unique in that it is one of seven counties
within the state of Florida where the Sheriff’s Office is contracted to investigate child abuse
cases as opposed to the Department of Children and Families.
