Federal Market Research

Wednesday, September 11, 2019 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Presented by Ed Ramos, Senior Area Manager, SBA

The US Federal market is unique for many different reasons, one of which being the access to public data. This includes both past and future procurements, listings of acquisition forecasts and more. The data is available to anyone. Research can be conducted in order to put together market analysis reports, competitive analysis and even finding ideal teaming or sub-contracting partners. Public websites are abundant and quite valuable to Government Contractors. One of the most widely used sites is Federal Business Opportunities, or FBO.gov. This site is used to search for solicitations valued over $25,000 – including Sources Sought notifications, Request for Information (RFI), Request For Proposals (RFP) and Request For Quotes (RFQ), Sole Source, Full & Open Competition, past procurements, interested bidders list and more. Other public sites provide information on competitor pricing, sub-contracting opportunities and more. Again, businesses can use this data to make informed decisions about where to spend their resources, time and money. Making decisions based on these facts can help power your strategic federal sales plan.
